The Club Development Plan
We want to have a Club Development Plan that reflects all the many and various views and ambitions of those who make up the club. Our data base suggests there are nearly 700 of you!
You are the Club – It must be your Plan
It is you, the people who play for the Deane, who support the Deane, who coach a Deane youth team, who mow the outfield, who have children who play for the Deane, who serve behind the bar, who put the boundary flags out, who come to the club dinner, who score - it is all of you who have the experience, the knowledge and the insights that will help us create a plan that you can back and support.
How to Have Your Say
There are two ways in which you can contribute to the development of the plan.
1. The Survey – a short set of questions that will give us a good indication of where we should be going and what our priorities should be.

2. The Workshop
There will be a workshop on Tuesday October 1 starting at 7.00 pm at the Clubhouse. The workshop will finish at about 9.30 pm. There will be a refreshment break. The bar will be open. This workshop will allow those attending to engage with others in discussing key aspects of the club.
We have limited space at the Deane, certainly not enough for all 700 of you, so an expression of interest does not guarantee a place. We will aim to get a good cross section of players, coaches, helpers so that the workshop is representative of all the aspects of club life.
If you want to attend this workshop you should email Ann Glinn annglinn67@outlook.com
The deadline for expressions of interest in attending the workshop is Tuesday September 17. We expect to be able to tell you if you have a place at the workshop on or before Tuesday September 24.
And then….
Once we have gathered all the information from the survey and from the workshop, work will start on the areas you have identified as priorities. This work will not be just committee members. We want members and supporters to continue giving ideas, energy and commitment to take the plan from paper into practice.
And then….
The Club Annual General Meeting is on Wednesday November 27 at the Clubhouse. This will be the chance to elect committee members that you think have the experience, skills and commitment to take the club forward. It will also be a chance to see how far this consultation process has taken us. Please attend this important meeting.
And finally….
We are delighted to have the support of the Somerset Cricket Foundation who will administer the survey and generate the analysis of responses. They will also lead the workshop and collate all the responses that come from that evening. Their support and advice continue to be greatly valued.
